Haliburton Forest Trip

April 30th weekend M.R.V.Y.S teamed up with Const. Mark Gray of 42 Division and the 3T program run by Rob Rogers to create an enjoyable weekend for youth between ages 14-19, spent at Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve.  Our weekend involved many great activities such as a Mountain bike ride, a visit to the wolf centre, campfire, Vertical Playground, a visit to the huskies and a night hike. We thank Toronto Police 42 for partnering with us to deliver in this weekend full of excitement and new experiences. We can’t wait to do more trips similar to this in the upcoming months.

MARVEL Summer Camp

Summer is almost here and the time is coming to start deciding what kind of activities your children will be involved in. MRVYS wants to help make this decision easy for all of you parents. Our MARVEL Summer Camp is the answer! MARVEL is Malvern Rouge Valley Excellence in Leadership. The focus of the MARVEL Summer Camp is to equip youth leaders through engaging activities within the community.

Previously, the MARVEL Summer Camp has been held at Mary Shadd Public School, and will continue to be held in the Malvern area this year and in years to come.

For more information on how your children can become a part of this great experience, please visit our website at www.mrvys.com or contact our Camp Director, Malaika Ogunsakin at 416-284-9369 ext. 222

March Break Camp

This year wraps up another one of our March Break camps. We had a number of new youth to the organization during the March 14-18 week that we ran our day camp. The youth participated in various activities ranging  from crafts, to science experiments, to recreational games outdoors. Overall the camp was a huge success and we would like to thank all of the families who participated in it.
Stay tuned for further details on our Summer Camp happening in July and August of 2011!

Celebrate Youth Cultures PD Day Camp

Our Celebrate Youth Cultures PD Day Camp was a huge success. The youth in the community who participated in this camp had the opportunity to try out crafts and activities from around the world. All of the youth showed amazing creativity and artistic expression. They also had the opportunity to make new friends and create many of their own activities as well.

There was a great deal of love and energy expressed by the youth, staff, volunteers, and families. The youth who were a part of our first PD Day Camp had a lot of fun and many of them have become part of our After School Program that occurs Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm-7:00pm.

Here are some of the activities that the youth of Malvern participated in during the Camp.
